We want this website to work for everyone — including parents and grandparents who use screen readers, navigate by keyboard, need strong color contrast, or browse with larger text. A school that teaches every child by name should have a website that treats every visitor the same way.
What we aim for
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. In practice, that means:
- Text and background colors with sufficient contrast
- A logical heading structure and descriptive link text
- Alternative text on meaningful images
- Menus and forms you can operate entirely from a keyboard, with visible focus indicators
- Animations that calm down when your device asks for reduced motion
- Pages that stay readable when text is enlarged
Known limitations
Accessibility is ongoing work, not a finish line, and we'd rather be honest about the soft spots than pretend there aren't any:
- Some downloadable documents — like the tuition and fee schedule PDFs — may not be fully accessible yet. If you need that information in another format, ask us and we'll get it to you.
- Content we embed from third parties (like the Google map on our contact page) is controlled by its provider and may not meet the same standard.
Found a barrier? Tell us.
If any part of this site is hard to use, we genuinely want to know. Email admin@solandsondla.com or call (828) 421-5268 and tell us which page gave you trouble and what went wrong. We'll work to fix it promptly — and in the meantime, we'll get you the information you were looking for in a format that works for you, including over the phone, in English or in Spanish.
